DOES SANITAS offer coverage for PEOPLE WITH PRE-EXISTING health CONDITIONS?
Sanitas considers insurance coverage for individuals with pre-existing medical conditions on a case-by-case basis. Serious or life-threatening conditions may impact eligibility, but for other conditions, our experienced team at the risk evaluation department conducts a thorough assessment. The insurance application includes a non-invasive 4-question health questionnaire, which is crucial for our central team to evaluate and determine coverage approval. We prioritize transparency and strive to provide comprehensive coverage tailored to individual health needs.
Is there a maximum age limit for policy purchases?
Our full-cover plans (for VISAs) are designed to accommodate people up to 75 years old, with no upper age limit for policy duration if enrolled before turning 75. However, Sanitas also provides healthcare with no age restrictions for new clients, with our basic cover plans, such as "Sanitas Unico", which is specifically designed for people over 60 years old. Do I have to pay each time I visit a Doctor or use a medical service?
No, not always as it depends on your plan. This only applies to polices that include co-payments ("copagos", in Spanish). For example, the "Sanitas Mas Salud" plan can be contracted with or without co-payments (most VISAs require health plans with no co-payments). Are there Any waiting periods involved?
It depends on the plan you decide to go with. Typically, our health plans require waiting periods for different procedures and medical services, which apply from the policy start date. Each plan has specific waiting periods ("carencias" in Spanish) that are stipulated in the terms and conditions of every healthcare plan before hiring. In the case of dental care, emergency assistance abroad or life-threatening emergencies, waiting periods do not apply. From the moment your policy is activated, you will receive urgent healthcare support from day 1 of your hired cover, ensuring prompt and vital medical assistance when you need it the most. can I have a full MEDICAL checkup?
Yes, you can have a basic medical check-up! To get this done, you can either access the MiSanitas app with your private user, or you can directly call your preferred GP to schedule an appointment. During the consultation you can ask your physician to prescribe any necessary basic tests for a check-up. You can use the specialists consultation services straight away, without any waiting periods.
does sanitas cover dental and optics?
It depends on the plan. Sanitas's VISA-compliant plans include 30 dental services and unlimited ophthalmology consultations. The "Optics cover" can be included in some plans as a medical Add-On, from only 5€ per month. Bonus fact: the "Sanitas Mas Salud Familias" plan offers 20 free psychology sessions per year, per insured family member. If you wish to receive more information, please contact me.
am i covered by sanitas when i travel abroad?
Yes, you are! Sanitas offers international health coverage during 90 consecutive days at a maximum medical cost of 12.000€ (per insured individual) . For more information about this, please contact me.
